Elaine Garrison Starnes, 83, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. She was born on December 15, 1942, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Odell and Eunice Garrison.

Elaine loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with all of them, especially on their mountain trips.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 17, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Wentz. The family will receive friends 10-11 am prior to the service. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Starnes and her son, Randy Starnes, both of whom she deeply loved.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Steven Starnes and wife Kim, Michael Starnes and wife Jane; daughters, Angela Hunt, Amy Treadway and husband John all of Gastonia; brother, Larry Garrison of Fletcher, NC; sisters, Janice Clippard of Gastonia, Renee McSwain of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to give special thanks to VIA Health Partners for their wonderful care of Mrs. Starnes, all of the staff went above and beyond.
