Edwin Watkins Sr.

Edwin Randall Watkins, Sr., 76, of Cherryville, passed away August 15, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 24, 1938 in Marble, NC, son of the late Emlis and Delsie Anderson Watkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ronnie L. Watkins and Edwin R. Watkins, Jr.; grandson, Travis Reynolds. Edwin is survived by his wife, Betty Watkins; daughters, Linda A. Moore, Brenda A. Cleaver and husband Brian; sister, Marie Payne; grandchildren, Steven Dula, Mary Ann Barnes; Amber Nicholson, Kyle McGregor, Aaron Nations, and Brandy Boulch; great-grandchildren, Tristan Barnes, Lane Dula, Peyton McGregor, and Aryabella Nations. A funeral service will be held 4 pm Tuesday at One Accord Independent, 115 W Ridge St, Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Keith Walker. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to One Accord Independent, 115 W Ridge St, Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
