Edwin "Dale" George

Edwin "Dale" George, 82, of Gastonia, NC, was born in Knoxville, TN, to Thomas "Malcolm" George and Ruth Higdon George on December 14, 1942. He passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on December 14, 2024.

He retired from the US Geological Survey.

He was a loving husband to Nancy George for 42 years; a loving father to his son, Dwayne (Andrea) George of Durham, NC and daughters, Kimberly (Jimmy) Nay of Greenville, NC, Erin (James) Stewart of Gastonia, NC, Mallory (John) Shetley of Galveston, TX. A loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella McCrae of Robbinsville, NC, Glenda (Kenny) Bradley of Robbinsville, NC.

Dale was predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Ruth George, sisters Diane Peterson and Odessa Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Dale's name to Samaritan's Purse Western NC Helene Hurricane relief.
