Rehoboth, MA Edward P. Toner, 84, passed away December 23, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, NC. He was born September 17, 1928 in Queens, NY, son of the late William and Mary McTeague Toner. Mr. Toner was past Chairman of Rehoboth Democratic Town Committee. He was a WWII Army Veteran with the 82nd. Airborne Division. Edward was a life member of: the VFW; American Legion Post #302, where he was prior treasurer; Somerset Sportsmen's Club Inc.; the NRA. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed coin collecting. Services are private He is survived by: his sons, Edward P. Toner Jr. of Gastonia, David L. Toner of California; daughters, Charlotte Toner Sullivan of Gastonia, Teresa J. Toner of Gastonia; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife, Norma J. Toner; brothers, John and William Toner. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a local Veterans Association.
