Edward Eugene Rimmer

Edward Eugene Rimmer, 82, of Dunn, NC, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

He was born January 16, 1941, in Gaston County, NC, to the late Raymond Riley Rimmer and Texie Sisk Rimmer.

Edward was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Gastonia, NC.  He and his wife loved to travel and go square dancing.  He retired from Talon Manufacturing in Stanley, NC.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Tolbert Rimmer; son, Brian Rimmer; brothers, Pete, Homer, Boyce, and Jerry; and sisters, Mildred, Inez, Hazel, and Betty.

Edward is survived by his son, Edward Keith Rimmer and wife Vickie of Dunn, NC; brother, Don Rimmer and wife Louise of Lincolnton, NC; sister-in-law Polly Rimmer; grandchildren, Toni Rimmer, Carla Rimmer, Daniel Rimmer and wife Ashley, and Megan Rimmer; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Alayna Miller, Callie Rimmer, Noah Hodge, Max Huggins, Ethan Rimmer, Andrew Rimmer, Braylen Abernathy, Eva Abernathy, and Olivia Wallace.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 10:00 – 10:45 am, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Scott Lingerfelt, will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Armstrong Cemetery, Osceola St., Gastonia, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County– 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
