Rev. Edward Monroe Painter age 85 of Cherryville passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.
He was born July 8, 1931 in Murphy NC. He was preceded in death by his parents John Thomas and Nancy Harris Painter.
Mr. Painter was retired from Pharr Yarns. He was the former Pastor of Stillwater Gospel Tabernacle in Springwood for over 33 years. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Peak Resources for their care of Rev. Painter.
Preceded in death in addition to his parent is his wife Irene Painter and brother Floyd Painter
Survivors include his children Shirley and Roger Bass and Donna Inscoe of Gastonia, Minnis and James Thomas of Dallas, Wannie and Sonny Harris of Dallas, Mark Painter of Gastonia and Tommy and Dana Painter of Kings Mountain, Ten Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren and Eight Great-Great Grandchildren. Brother and Wife Carl and Bertie Painter of Cramerton and Brother Norman Painter of Bessemer City; sister, Polly Burton of Lake Wylie,South Carolina.
Visitation will be Sunday 6 to 8pm at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel other times at the home of Shirley Bass, 2645 Wynnhurst Court, Gastonia
Graveside Service, Monday 11am at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. John Mayberry Officiating
