Edward Harper Jr.

Edward Harper Jr., 71, of Gaston County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. A Gaston County native, he was born May 15, 1942 son of the late Edward Harper Sr. and Essie Trotter Parrott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dave Parrott. Edward is survived by his children, Anthony Harper and wife Hollie of Kings Mountain, Kim Jones and husband Mark of Charlotte, Angie Rankin and husband Keith of Bessemer City; brother, Robert Parrott; sister, Ann Gibson; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Andy Raines, will be held 3 pm Monday, May 12 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
