Edward Franklin Buchanan

Edward Franklin Buchanan, 85, of Lowell, passed away May 1, 2015 at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born August 5, 1929, in Lowell, son of the late Jack Buchanan and Arizona Messer Buchanan. Edward was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as: fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowell. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Juanita Buchanan; son, Paul Buchanan and spouse Andrea; daughter, Wanda Mitchell and spouse Joey; brothers, Bud and Benny Buchanan; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Lowell, 400 W 1st St, Lowell, NC, and Dr. David Irish will be officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Monday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia, NC. Interment will be held at Edgewood Cemetery in Lowell. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lowell, 400 W 1st St, Lowell, NC 28098. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
