Edsel "Ed" Mayhue,80, of Dallas, passed away on January 7, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born November 6, 1933 in Lincoln County, son of the late Frederick Mayhue and Ethel Carrie McElveen Mayhue. Mr. Mayhue was a US Marine Corp. veteran. He was a retired truck driver. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends 7:00- 9:00 on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with military honors. Mr. Mayhue is survived by: children, Terry Mayhue and wife Dorothy, Pam Shuler and husband Steve, Ronnie Mayhue and wife Kathryn , all of Gastonia; brothers, Charlie and Junior Mayhue; sisters, Patsy Randolph, Naomi Butler; grandchildren, Brian, Heavenley, Skyler, Alicia; step grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy, Bryan; great grandchildren, Hunter, Nicholia, Constantine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: first wife, Helen Stone Mayhue; second wife, Monnie Ballew Mayhue; brother, Troy Mayhue; sisters, Faye Ghantt, Peggy Grimsley.
