Edna Seay, 83, of Clover, SC, passed away December 12, 2024, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Carl M. and Pauline Epley Patton.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Floyd Seay; grandson, Joshua Carle; sister, Dot Patton; two brothers, Robert Patton and Steve Patton; and daughter-in-law Tina Seay.
Edna was a member of Midway Baptist Church in York, SC. She taught the Women's Sunday school class and also lead the Women's ministry for many years. Mrs. Edna's love and joy for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was evident in her service to numerous churches and events.
She held many varied jobs in her life, including being a pastor's wife, over-the-road truck driver, managed a restaurant for many years, and meter reader for the City of Kings Mountain, NC. Edna's most important "job" was sharing Christ's love to everyone she encountered.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Sandy Tidwell and husband Charles; three sons, David Seay and wife Deborah, Timothy Seay, and Matthew Seay and wife Jeanne; brother, Connie Patton and wife, Tad; sister, Marcella Farr and husband Dean Ellis; grandchildren, Matthew Seay, Jennifer Seay, Christopher Carle, Michael Carle, Jacob Tidwell, Catie Carle, Jaden Carle, Owen Seay, and Lela Seay; and six great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Edna's life, officiated by Pastor Mark Dellinger, will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Midway Baptist Church, 12984 Hwy 55, York, SC, 29745. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 E. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, SC.
