Edith Rae Sims

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Edith Rae Sims, who left us on July 21, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on November 24, 1941, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Manley Gettys and Lucy Jones Smith.

Edith co-owned real estate investment property with her late husband. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Grand Matron in 85 - 86. She enjoyed traveling extensively. She loved shopping, birds, bird feeders, Christmas, decorating, Turner Classic Movies, entertaining, and was a wine connoisseur.

Edith leaves behind her cherished son, Mark Sims (Karen); grandchildren, Brandon Sims (Michelle, Julian Sims (Jasna), Sarah Martinez, Justin Sims (Keshia); great-grandchildren, Colton Sims, Akira Martinez, Jeremiah Sims, Kenan Sims.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Stanley Sims; son, Adrian Sims, daughter-in-law, Naoko Sims.

All services will be private.
