Edith "Daphene" Postell

Edith "Daphene" Postell, 84, of Cherryville, passed away January 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born June 3, 1930 a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Toy and Novella Wall. Daphene was a member of Midway Baptist Church of Gastonia. She is survived by her sons, Mike Warren Postell and wife, Mary, and Jason Postell and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Sherry Postell Dills; sisters, Billie Teague and husband, RC and Phyllis Pitner; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and special friends, Jeannie and Carolyn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar W. Postell; son, Robin Del Postell; sister, Patsy Loretta Postell and brother, Elden "Sonny" Wall. A funeral service will be held 3 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Jerry Millwood. Visitation will be 2:00 - 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society - 1901 Brunswick Ave., Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
