Edith Lunsford Deitz

Edith Lunsford Deitz, 72, passed away on March 8, 2017 at her home.

She was born on March 20, 1944 in Gastonia, the daughter of the late James Wheeler Lunsford and Lillie Geneva Lunsford.

Edith was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  She retired from Pharr- Yarns in McAdenville after 28 years of service

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Billy Ray Deitz; son Barry Lynn Deitz and wife Sandra; daughter Leslie Deitz; brother Jackie W. Lunsford and wife Susan, grandchildren Christopher Lynn Deitz and Corrie Elizabeth Deitz, Casey Lincoln Haynes and James Craig; uncle Oliver Spivey; nieces Tonya Allred and husband Mike, Tracy Cagle and husband Jason; nephews Jason Lunsford and Randall Lunsford; sisters-in-law Bobbie and husband Toby and Candy; brother-in-law Brian and great-nieces Aubrey and Josie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Wheeler Lunsford.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

A private graveside service will be in Hillcrest Gardens.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
