Edgar Eugene Gilliland, Jr.

Edgar Eugene Gilliland, Jr., 63, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born August 9, 1951 in Anderson County, SC, son of the late, Nancy and Edgar E. Gilliland, Sr. Edgar was a member of the Open Bible Assembly in Dallas. He is survived by his loving wife, Joann of the home; son, Ron Gilliland; sisters, Linda Bridges and husband, Clyde; Charlene Grindle; Lorinda Sanders and husband, Wayne and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, J.W. Gilliland. A memorial service officiated by, Pastor Charles Curtis will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday at the Open Bible Assembly - at the corner of Jenkins and College Street in Dallas, NC. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: National Kidney Foundation, NC Region - 4819 Park Rd., Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28209-3842.
