Earl Vernon

Earl Vernon, 68, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2014. Earl was born October 23, 1946 in Gaston County, son of the late Johnny and Lillie Crawford Vernon. Earl retired from Galey and Lord - Flint Plant in Gastonia after 26 years of service. Earl is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Vernon Carter and husband Thomas, and grandchildren, Christopher Griffie, Brittany Green and Andrew Carter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Jane Rhyne Vernon. A funeral service will be held 3 pm Monday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052, officiating Rev. Matt Carr. The family will receive friends 3-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
