Earl Wayne Goodson

Earl Wayne Goodson, 76, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at W.G. Hefner VA Hospital. Born on March 27, 1949, in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late Jack Leroy Goodson and Peggy Poole Green.

Earl was proudly a Vietnam Veteran, and served in the United States Marine Corps. His adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Amy Goodson Brazelton; his sister, Jo Stiles; and his brother, Sheldon Goodson.

Earl leaves behind his dear wife, Shirley Goodson; his son, Christopher Goodson (and daughter-in-law, Charlene); and his cherished grandchildren, Morgan and Devon Brazelton.

A graveside service, led by Pastor Josh Glandon, will take place Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Gaston Memorial Park, located at 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
