Douglas Wayne Whitesides

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Wayne Whitesides, who left us on May 25, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on September 29, 1969, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Doug spent his life passionately pursuing his interests and invested deeply in his family and friends.

A talented truck driver by trade, Doug took great pride in working for himself, often seen behind the wheel of a rig that reflected his love for anything that went fast. He was known for his incredible skills in building and repairing things, often turning a simple project into an adventure. Whether he was at the V.F.W. or spending quality time with his family, Doug's warmth and enthusiasm for life were infectious.

Doug is survived by his sister, Cecilia Whitesides Miller; MOM, Cecilia Howell; brother-in-law, Randy Miller II; niece, Lacey Rose Miller; and nephew, Randy LeGree Miller III. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Doug will be missed dearly, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest easy, Doug. You were one of a kind.
