Douglas Lee Sawyer

Douglas Lee Sawyer (70), Dallas, NC, left this earth on Sunday August 4, 2024, at 10:10 pm.

Doug was born on July 16, 1954, to Paul Sawyer and Alma Crisp in Gastonia, NC.

Doug had a profound love for Christ. He spent 50 years relentlessly studying his Bible. At the age of 20 he accepted Christ as his savior and went on from there to teach others about the free gift of salvation. He left this earthly life and now is resting in Christ, where he awaits his time to be called from the grave.

Doug was predeceased in death by his father, Paul Sawyer and mother, Alma Crisp, brother, Greg Ragan. He is survived by his son, David Sawyer and wife Georgia, daughter, Layla Sawyer. Granddaughter's Angel Sawyer and Sabrina Nguyen. Grandson, Michael Nguyen. And a special brother in Christ, Larry Queen. He had four great grandchildren, Anna, Stella, Lux, and Kyoto. Sisters Ruth Eckliff and husband Glenn, Sister Janice Lowery and husband Shane.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 6 – 8:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC. Graveside services will be held Sunday August 11th at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Garden, 3302 Hwy 25 N., Hodges, SC 29649.
