Douglas Theodore Childers, 89, passed away June 21, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Jackson County, NC on November 22, 1928, the son of the late Hayes and Louanna Stewart Childers.
Doug was a member of Lake Wylie Christian Assembly. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He retired from Wix Corporation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jeanette Coggins Childers; sons, Doug Childers of Gastonia, NC and Kenny Childers and wife, Rose of Clover, SC; sister, Dixie Moses of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday, June 25, 2018 at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, officiated by Pastor Lewis Gunn.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
