Douglas Aaron "Doug" Browne, 77, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Gastonia, NC.

Doug is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judy Gipson Browne; children, Matthew Browne and wife Michelle, Wendy McCraw and husband Doug of Marion, NC, Tony Adair and wife Julie of Lawndale, NC, and Wendi Shields of McAdenville, NC; grandchildren include, Victoria Browne, Griffin Evans, Noah Browne, Samantha Martin, Joshua Jennings, Erin Shields, Summer Shields, Brooke Adair Cruz-Ramos, and Alexis Adair. In addition, Doug had five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Beauford C. Browne and mother Emma Browne.

Doug was born on August 2, 1944, in Mt Airy, NC to Beauford C. Browne and Emma Blevins. He worked for Sears Roebuck for 30 years followed by 15 years at NAPA Auto Parts. Doug was a talented individual who loved to work on old cars and go fishing. He was a warm and caring person, generous of his time and attention. Doug volunteered for many years with the Union Rd Volunteer Fire Department and was the Assistant Chief. He was also a member of Ridge Baptist Church. To know Doug was to love him and he will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 3:00pm at Ridge Baptist Church in Gastonia with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doug's life.
