"Dot" Mciver Hardy

November 1, 1920 — July 14, 2015

"Dot" McIver Hardy, 94, of Gastonia, passed away on July 14, 2015, at her home. She was born November 1, 1920, in Miami, Florida daughter of the late Weldon Sterling McIver and Alice Albury McIver. "Dot" loved her family deeply and was devoted to all of them. She was a waitress in Miami until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bessemer City; along with her love for her church, she enjoyed word finds, soap operas and watching golf. A special thank you for the wonderful and loving care that her grandchildren, Tracy, Jennifer and Bill provided her. The family would also like to thank Dr. Saluke and Gaston Hospice for their care during "Dot's" illness. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1303 North 12th Street Bessemer City, officiated by Pastor Connie Connelly. The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. "Dot" is survived by, son, Wayne Hardy; daughter, Diane Tryling and husband George; grandchildren, Bill Tryling, Tracy Holland, Ray Tryling, Jennifer Correa, and Eric Hardy; fourteen great - grandchildren; eight great-great -grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hardy; brother, Weldon McIver; sister, Margaret Wall. Memorials may be sent to St. Andrews Episcopal Church P. O. Box 611 Bessemer City, NC 28016 or Gaston Hospice P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054 Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
