Dorothy "Dot" Stamey

Dorothy "Dot" Bates Stamey, 87, of Dallas, went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2021, at Robin Johnson House.

She was born December 9, 1933, in Macon County, NC, daughter of the late Samuel and Lassie Mae Bates.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Fred Stamey; daughters, Brenda Stamey, and Faye Gori; daughter in law, Jennie Stamey; granddaughter, Samantha Stamey; brothers, Bobby, Kenneth, and Dean Bates; sisters, Agnes Brooks, and Shirley Calloway.

She was a member of Lowell Church of God. Dot loved the Lord and praying for family.

Left to cherish her memories are sons, Jerry (Martha) Stamey, Kenny (Ruthie) Stamey, Doug Stamey; daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Neagle; son in law, George Gori; grandchildren, Brian Watts , Derrick Stamey (Christie), Randy Haney, Leslie and Wendy Stamey, Donna Crane (Jeff), Tammy Garland (Kerry), David Hastings (Amanda), Mandy Payne (Ronnie), Rene Nelms (Michael), Heather Neagle Chewning (James), Megan Neagle Bright (Nick); 15 great-grandchildren: and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Deloris Blanton; brother, Murrell Bates; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Joe Heffner, will be held 1:00 pm Friday, April 9, 2021, at Lowell Church of God. The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 12:45 at the church.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
