Dorothy Jean Sanderson

Dorothy "Dot" Brown Sanderson, 89, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on March 2, 1935 in Lenoir County, NC, to the late Sargett and Eula Brown.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rashie Sanderson; three brothers, Clayton Brown, Leo Brown, Norwood Brown; two sisters, Marie Gilbert, Glennie Sanderson; four half brothers.

Dot is survived by her son Glenn Sanderson (Sharon); daughter, Pat Murphy (Cecil); sister, Margaret McArthur; half sisters, Alice Daughety, Ann Wisener, Faye Batchelor; three grandchildren, Chris Sanderson, Kristy Sanderson, Jessica Neeley; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.

A funeral service, officiated by Bishop Mike White and Bishop Michael Goins, will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, 2:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family will have a private committal Saturday, December 28, 2024.
