Dorothy Mccarter Mews

Gastonia, NC Dorothy "Dot" McCarter Mews, 74, of Gastonia, passed away January 6, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A Gaston County native, she was born July 15, 1938 daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia Bailey.

She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Dot is survived by her husband, Jerry Mews; daughter, Sue Rolland; brothers, Clinton, Robert, Billy, Thomas, and Chuck McCarter; sisters, Peggy Messick and Eva Jane Chapman; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Mike Wilson, will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, January 9, at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 8, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
