Dorothy "Dot" Mcswain Moore

Belmont, NC Dorothy "Dot" McSwain Moore 1943 - 2014 Dorothy "Dot" McSwain Moore, 71, of 19 Greenway Circle, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at her residence. A Gaston County native, she was born July 23, 1943 daughter of the late William and Pauline Susan Leatherman McSwain. Mrs. Moore was a member of East Belmont Presbyterian Church and worked for Belmont Parks and Recreation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Moore; brother, Eddie McSwain; and sister, Joyce McSwain Sutton. Dot is survived by her daughter, Dana Moore Silvers and husband, Jeff of Gastonia; son, Damen Richard Moore of Belmont; former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Geni Hall-Moore of Belmont; aunt and special friend, Alice Rushing of Belmont; and grandchildren, Destiny Faith Moore and Eternity Grace Moore of Belmont. A celebration of life service, officiated by the Revs. Steve Robinson and Ray Kruntorad will be held 4pm Thursday, September 4 at East Belmont Presbyterian Church, 901 E. Catawba St., Belmont. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gaston Hospice, P.O.
