Dorothy J. Hill Brooks

Dorothy J. Hill Brooks, 65, of Gastonia, passed away July 24, 2012, at her home. She was born January 19, 1947 in Charlotte, daughter of the late John Henry Hill Sr. and Lora Jane McConnel Hill. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Michael Hill The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. She is survived by: her sons and daughters in-law, Jarvis and Erika Brooks, Ronnie and Sharon Brooks, Maurice and Alice Brooks all of Gastonia; brothers and sisters in-law, Buck Hill, Robert and Joyce Hill of Gastonia, Gillesta Hill, John Henry Hill Jr., Donald and Nancy Hill, James "Pop" and Aggie Hill all of Dallas; grandchildren, Na`Cole, Denise, Alexandra, Demond, Jamond, Lamar, Marcus and RaShawn Brooks; great grandchildren, Omari "Dre Dre", Ny`Ajeah, Destiny and Mariah Brooks; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Jazzmine Elizabeth Brooks; her former spouse, Elijah Brooks Jr. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, NC Region, 4819 Park Rd., Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28209-3842 Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
