Dorothy Guffie

February 22, 1933 — May 9, 2021

Dorothy Bradshaw Guffie, 88, of Gastonia, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on February 22, 1933, in Georgia, to the late Cuba and Inas Bradshaw.

Dorothy retired in 1998 from American and Efird, where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Dorothy was a generous, loving, kind, Christian, and compassionate angel sent from above. She will be deeply missed by many.  Dorothy was a true gift from God.

Dorothy's favorite Bible verse was 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 " Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Sanford Guffie.

Left to cherish Dorothy's memories are her children, Dennis Guffey, Larry Guffie, Bonnie Chapman, and Patricia Holbrook; sister, Kathleen Anderson; grandchildren, Dorothy Roussard, Bucky Weathers, and Daniel Guffey; and great-grandchildren, Trent, Jantzen, and Jake Weathers.

Funeral service is by invitation only.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service.
