Dorothy Mccraw Dow

November 28, 1932 — May 5, 2018

Dorothy McCraw Dow, 85, of Lowell, passed away May 5, 2018 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.  A Gaston County native, she was born November 28, 1932, daughter of the late Roland James and Isabel Franklin McCraw.    Mrs. Dow was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted Christian Catholic and a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont.  She was a great cook and loved to make everyone feel welcome.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 42 years, George Joseph Dow; daughter, Teresa Hope Dow; and sisters, Sally Cannon and Inez Wise.  Left to cherish her memories are her children, Charles Dow and wife Kelly; Gloria Sigmon and husband Tim, Jean Dow, Mary Clemmer and husband Marvin, Rebecca Thomas and husband Terry, Samuel Dow and wife Jeri, Judy Dow; numerous nieces and nephews, special caregiver, Kathy Coley Smith; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.  A wake service will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 P.M. following the wake service.  A funeral mass, officiated by Father Frank Cancro, will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, May 10, at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 503 N. Main St., Belmont.  Inurnment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson House c/o Gaston Hospice, P.O.
