Dorothy Lily Clark, 83, of Gastonia, passed away on November 23, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Gastonia. She was born July 27, 1931 in Anniston, Alabama, daughter of the late Fount Durrel Jones and Zena Jones. Mrs. Clark was a member of Yorkwood Church of God, Gastonia, for over 40 years. She was formerly employed with Threads as the cafeteria manager. She retired from Caromont Regional Medical Center where she worked in the cafeteria. One of her greatest joys was spending time feeding the homeless. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Dale Dyars. The family will receive friends 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Mrs. Clark is survived by: daughters, Reba Venette Carpenter and husband Adam of Warren Ohio, Connie Clark Ammons of Gastonia; grandchildren, David Allen Carpenter of Warren Ohio, Liz Ammons of Cullowhee, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, Floyd "Pete" Clark; son, Henry "Handsaw" Clark; grandson, Jason Leigh Clark. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Second Harvest Food Bank 500 Spratt Street Charlotte, NC 28206. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
