Dorothy Barrick

Dorothy Barrick, 89, of Gastonia, passed away May 12, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 25, 1928, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late William Franklin Randolph and Caroline Freeman Randolph.

Dorothy was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Charlotte.  She was an interior designer for over 55 years.  She was the head designer for the Belk Brothers and Mecklenburg Furniture.  She also taught interior designing for Gaston College, UNCC and CPCC.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Randal Tolbert; 2 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carole Long; four brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Richard Randolph, will be held 5 p.m. Friday at Dallas Baptist Church, 407 W. Trade Street, Dallas.

Visitation will follow at the church.
