Dorothy Barber

Dorothy "Dot" Barber, 96 of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Accordius Health at Charlotte.

A native of Gaston Co, she was born August 21, 1924, daughter of the late Troy and Teresa Martin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Barber.

She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher.

She worked for several years as a seamstress at Beaunit in Lowell.

Dot loved her family and her church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, James "Jim" Barber; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey Barber; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrea, Nathan, and Katelyn Barber; brother, Troy Martin; and sister, Irene McPherson.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor David MacEachern, will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barber will lie in state from 3-5pm Wednesday, December 16, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
