Doris Smith Bradley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Doris Smith Bradley, who left us peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 19, 1938, in North Carolina, Doris brought warmth and kindness to everyone around her during her time here.

Doris devoted much of her life to her family and her work. As a spooler in the textile industry, she was a hardworking woman who took great pride in her contributions. She was a member of First Foursquare Church in Belmont, NC. She loved to work outside with her flowers and cutting grass. She enjoyed going on trips to the beach with her friend, Frankie Massey, or to where ever they would end up at. Her dedication echoed the love she poured into raising her children-her daughters Nancy Bradley, Ellen "Nora" Shingleton, Vanessa Bradley, Janet Martin, and son Billy Wise. She cherished each moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and taught them all the value of hard work, love, and togetherness.

Doris will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the joy she brought into our lives.

To honor her memory, funeral services will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join us for visitation at the same location on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Doris will find her final resting place at 5615 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.

We invite all who knew and loved Doris to come share stories, offer support, and celebrate the beautiful life she led. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

In addition to her children, she is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, William Smith, Louise Smith; daughter, Judy Bradley; son, James Bradley; grandson, Jason Aldridge.
