Doris Joanne Miles Maltba

Doris Joanne Miles Maltba, 85, of Gastonia, passed away April 24, 2024, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

She was born June 8, 1938, in Gaston County, daughter of the late William Edward Miles and Grace Williams Miles.

Doris was a member of 8th Street Church of God in Bessemer City where she was a member of the choir and loved to sing. She enjoyed cooking for her family and her church family. She loved cake decorating and always welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile and open arms.

Doris was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

While she was at White Oak Manor, she was known as the "Dancing Queen".

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 29, 2024, at 8th Street Church of God 906 South 8th Street Bessemer City, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Pendleton, Pastor Richard Maltba Jr., and Pastor Joe Heffner.

The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.

The burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.

Doris is survived by her sons, Ricky Maltba (Susie Wilson), Michael Maltba (Dana), Shawn Maltba (Paige); her daughter, Kim Maltba (Mike West); brother, Charles Miles; sisters, Genee Owen, Patricia Clewis (Elbert), Carol Sue Crane (Eric); grandchildren, Richard Maltba Jr., Dawn Blackmon, Michael Maltba, Matthew Maltba, Douglas Maltba, Ashley Patterson, Britni Maltba; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by husband, Bobby Lee Maltba; daughter, Debbie Maltba; sons, Donnie Maltba and Bobby Maltba; siblings, Oleeta Detter, Clyde Miles, Ronnie Miles and Melvin Miles; grandchildren, Peggy Lynn Maltba, Brenn Maltba, Jennifer Moore, Mitchell Moore Jr.
