Doris Rae Long

Doris Rae Long, 86 of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Belaire in Gastonia.

She was born in Gaston County, to the late Pink Ray Long and Ruth Morrow Long on December 7, 1936.

Doris was the owner and operator of A Child's World Daycare. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Sylvester Long Jr.; son, Randy Dale Long; sister, Pauline Long Cochrane; and her fur baby Toby.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Tracy Gentry and husband Wayne; sister, Barbara Long Bradley; grandsons, Tim and Josh Gentry; and great-grandson, Greyson Gentry.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Michael Leary, will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM.

The South Chapel of Greene funeral Service is serving the Long family.
