Doris Mcdonald Hill

Doris McDonald Hill, 87, of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Gaston County to the late Arthur and Nellie McDonald on July 13, 1935.

Doris was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Gastonia where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and served as treasurer of the senior citizen group, "The Ridge Hoppers".

The family would like to thank Gaston Hospice for their compassionate care, also, the doctors and staff that attended to her at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Hill; son, Bryant Lee Hill; brothers, Wilbert, Buddy and Diz McDonald; sisters, Virginia Parham, Bertha Mae McDonald, Margaret Ann McDonald.

Doris is survived by her brother, Harvey McDonald (Laura); daughter-in-law, Andrea Hill; granddaughter, Megan Hall (Matt); great-grandchildren, Ava and Hudson Hall; a number of nieces and nephews; a host of friends and church family.

A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Todd Terry, will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, 4:00 PM at Ridge Baptist Church, 3818 Old York Road, Gastonia. Visitation will be from 3 – 4:00 PM at the church.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium is serving the Hill family.
