Doris George Green

Doris George Green, born on May 16, 1935, in Gastonia, NC, left this world on August 28, 2026. A beloved mother and educator, Doris spent her life nurturing the minds of young students at a private school and found joy in being a vibrant member of the Union Road Church of God in Gastonia.

Doris was a true family person, cherished by her daughters, Denise Morrow (Doug) and Debbie Hopkins (Larry); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; who will carry on her legacy of love and dedication. She found great happiness in both her family and church family, dedicating her time and energy to uplift those around her.

Friends and family are invited to join together in honoring Doris's life at her funeral services, which will be held at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 11a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Scott Huffman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service at the funeral home. We are planning a heartfelt celebration of her life, filled with stories, memories, and the love she spread throughout her days. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in entombment at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.

Doris will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, T.A. Green; parents, Willie and Lola Taylor George; brothers, Bill, James, and Gene George; sisters, Lois Auten and Barbara Guin.
