Doris Wall Burgess

Doris Manis Wall Burgess, born on May 15, 1930, to Floyd and Daisy Manis in Mecklenburg County, passed away on November 5 ^th after a long battle with dementia.

She was a member of First Assembly of God and also retired from Firestone after 40 years of service. She worked hard in her earlier years taking care of four boys, then grandchildren. We all looked forward to the holidays with her homemade candies and cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; Paul L Wall, Harold D. Burgess; son, Mike Wall.

Doris is survived by her sons, Larry (Debbie), Gary, and Chris. She has nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, and fur baby Roscoe.

Special thanks to grand-daughter Jennifer Smith for being the most loving and caring daytime caregiver, Also, great-great-granddaughter, little Bernadette, for her sweet loving kisses for Maw Maw Burgess.

A service officiated by Pastor Dennis Boyce, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
