Dr. Dorcas Hough-Lynch, 69, of Gastonia, passed away January 25, 2015 at Covenant Village of Gastonia. She was born January 29, 1945, daughter of the late James Clark and June Wilson Hough. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Gastonia. She was a native of Lancaster, OH and grew up in Brazil, South America. She graduated from Asbury College and then went on to get her master's degree from Rutger's University. She got her masters of public health from Tulane University and her medical degree from Louisiana State University. She was also a missionary in Mozambique, Africa. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dr. James Keith Lynch whom she has been married to for over 26 years; son, Logan Lynch of Gastonia; daughter, Arianne Lynch of Gastonia and brother, John Hough of Vail, AZ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Ida Jenks. A graveside service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Victor Wilfong. Instead of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Covenant United Methodist Church - 801 West Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
