Dorcas Weaver Dameron

Gastonia, NC Dorcas Weaver Dameron, 89, passed away June 30, 2013, at CaroMont Regional Med. Ctr.. Gastonia. She was born December 20, 1923 in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Willie and Nell Hollen Weaver. Mrs. Dameron loved her family very much and loved planting her garden. She loved her church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, where she was a life long member, loved to sing in the Choir, helped with Vacation Bible School, was a member of Serendipity Sunday School Class and the Senior Citizens group. Dorcas was retired from Belmont Hosiery Mill after 40 years of service. She worked for the Red Cross Blood Drive. The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Willie Dameron, Mrs. Dameron's daughter in-law, for her loving care of Dorcas. A memorial service will be held 11 am on Saturday at New Hope Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Edward Forsyth. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery, following the service. The family will receive friends following the inurnment on Saturday at the church. She is survived by: son and daughter in-law, Danny and Willie Dameron; grandchildren, William Lee Dameron and wife, Joannie, Shannon Dawn Dameron and husband, Mike, Scott Barnes and wife, Crystal, Shane Barnes and girlfriend, Sharon Horne, Chris Stuman, Dawn Yao; 14 great grandchildren; special friend, Wanda Adams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, William Ralph Dameron. Memorials may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 4357 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056.
