Dora Jane Mullenax

Dora Jane Taylor Mullenax, 88, of Gastonia passed away Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living. A Gaston county resident she was born March the 5th, 1936, daughter of the late John and Novella Taylor, of High Shoals. In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her husband Aldin of 69 years, her brothers, Lawrence, Donald, Paul, John Jr., Leonard, Allen, Louie, and sisters, Mildred Stamey, and Violet Weaver. Sh is survived by her brother Kyle, daughters, Myra Carter, and husband Dan, Connie Rodden, and Sherry Nicholson, five grandchildren Christi Carter, Danny Carter and wife Ashley, Holly Rodden, Ross Loftis and wife Kylie, Melissa Law and husband Brian, great-grandchildren Drake Loftis, Robby Wagner, Henry Carter, Nadia Law, Jace Law, and Roman Law.

Dora was an accomplished seamstress working for many area sewing businesses, with an eye for perfection. She was also an avid Scrabble enthusiast with anyone who would like to play.

Dora loved her Lord and church family at Dallas Church of God and enjoyed trips with the seniors when her husband was the bus driver.

One of the highlights of her year was a trip to the coast with a large group of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Holidays were spent at the home at 926 South York Street. Mother's Days, Father's Days, Thanksgiving Days, and especially Christmas gatherings were festive occasions.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Dallas Church of God, 311 South College Street, Dallas, North Carolina, on Monday, December 23 at 11:00 AM.

The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour before the service. Bishop Brandon Cassell will officiate the service, assisted by Bishop Dan Carter of the family.

Burial will follow the service in High Shoals City Cemetery.
