Donnie Wilson

Donnie Woodrow Wilson, 65, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia after a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 17, 1955, in Gaston County, to the late Walker and Julia Abernathy Wilson.

For many years Donnie worked at Bilo Grocery as the seafood manager and dsd of receiving.

Mr. Wilson was a church member at Word Truth of Assembly in Newton, NC. He was an avid antique and record collector. Donnie loved music and could often be found selling records at his local flea market. Donnie loved the Lord, his wife, family, and friends with all his heart.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by sisters, Lavane, Margie, and Dorothy all formerly of Bessemer City.

Left to cherish Donnie's memories are his loving wife of 42 years, Glenda Wilson; best bud, Robert Roy of Gastonia; brother, Buddie Rice and wife Debbie of Kings Mtn; cousin, Beverly Kenney; extended family, Robert and Sharon Winchester, Steve and Mary Center, and Janice Winchester and family; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service for Mr. Wilson will be held at a later date.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is assisting the family.
