Donna Jean Wray Thompson

Donna Jean Wray Thompson, 57, of Gastonia, left this earth too soon on August 2, 2016. She was born, a native of Gaston County on February 27, 1959, the daughter of Barbara Davis Brackett and the late Donald L. Wray. Donna attended Sheltering Arms in Clayton, Georgia.  She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Left to cherish her memories along with her mother are her sons Michael Cox and Matthew Lewis; daughter Shannon Platt and husband Edmond; sister Julia Caldwell; grandchildren Zachary, Destiny, Dylan, Katelyn and Trey Platt and Caleb, Alyssa and Ayden; nieces Emily and Brandy and nephew Jonathan. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Randy Thompson. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Paul Cole will be held 2 pm Sunday at Greene Funeral Service – West Chapel 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia. The family will receive friends 6 – 9 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
