Donald M. Watkins, 86, passed away on September 4, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a quiet, private man whose steady presence meant so much to his family.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Army and had a lifelong passion for aviation. He earned his commercial pilot's license in 1973 and became a flight instructor the following year. He was also a talented and accomplished professional, earning a Bachelor of Journalism from Preston College and receiving recognition for his work in graphic arts and advertising.
Don shared 36 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rachel Watkins (Granny). They would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on October 21.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; children Lisa Moore and Robert Cook; grandchildren Hali Entas, Lindsey Dube', Eva Dube, Dustin Moore, and Dalton Moore; great-grandson Kaiden Brown; and sister-in-law Traci Williamson. Hali was also lovingly adopted and raised by Don and Rachel as their daughter.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Marissa Dube', on March 16, 2025.
After a year and a half apart, Don is now reunited with Marissa, bringing comfort to those who loved them both.
Though he lived a quiet life, Don leaves behind a lasting legacy of family, accomplishments, memories, and love. He will always be remembered as Pa, and he will be deeply missed.
