Donald Ray Sherbert, Jr.

Donald "Ray" Sherbert, Jr., 55, of Gastonia, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

He was born in Gaston County, NC December 13, 1968, to Cathy Thompson Lucas and the late Donald Sherbert, Sr.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sybil Thompson, and Thelma Mae Sherbert; sister, Beverly Irene Sherbert; granddaughter, Adalynne Rae Jenkins; and uncle, George Thompson.

Ray enjoyed fishing, boating, working on old cars, and cooking/grilling out with his family at get togethers.

He is survived by his children, Courtney Rae Sherbert, Joshua Lee Michael Sherbert, and Devin Lee LaCount; former spouse, Michele Capps; sister, Shelley Sherbert; brother, Michael Sherbert and wife Christy; sister, Georgie Sawyer and husband David; and grandchildren, Abigail, Alana, Nolan, Elliott, Ashton, Kayden, Raegan, and Charlee.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 4:00 pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Visitation will be held 2:30-4:00 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home.

Interment is private.
