Donald Odell Rushton

Blacksburg, SC - Donald Odell Rushton, 71, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away March 31, 2014 at Agape Senior Center, Rock Hill. He was born August 14, 1942 in Gaston County, NC, son of Pauline Rushton and the late, Wilfred Rushton. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed, a great provider to his family. He is in the presence of the Lord. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday at Garver Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Alex David Stewart. The visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Donald is survived by his mother Pauline Vernon Rushton of Mt. Holly, NC; wife, Maxine Rushton of Blacksburg, SC; sons, Donald Ray Rushton and wife, Lora of Lincolnton, NC; sisters; Wanda McKinney, Cathy Anders, Patricia Bethea; grandchildren, Kimberly Rushton Bell, Donald Todd Rushton, Olivia Chase, Angel Marie Lowery; great grandchildren , Roxie, Noah and Wyatt Bell, Emma Rushton, Blake and Colton Burgess. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Olin Rushton; brother, Olin Rushton; daughter, Debra Lowery and sister, Janice Tapp. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
