Donald E. Richardson Sr.

Donald E. Richardson Sr., 68, of Bessemer City, passed away on April 18, 2018, at Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain.
He was born August 24, 1949 in Gaston County, son of the late Silas Richardson and Mary Baldwin Richardson.
Mr. Richardson was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Bessemer City.
He loved his family and his church family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He enjoyed kayaking on the South Fork river and hiking.
He was a veteran of the US Marines.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Harvest Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Robin Taylor.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Judy Huntsinger Richardson; sons, Donald Richardson Jr., Scott Richardson, Russ Carroll; daughters, April McKenzie and husband, Rodney Deese; Doni Cooke, April Benfield; brothers, Jerry and Dean Richardson; sister, Frances Stiles; grandchildren, Kristen Rhinehardt, Aaron Cooke, Abby Carroll, Justin McKenzie, Madeline McKenzie, Takijitae Carroll; two great- grandchildren; former wife, Patricia Queen.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and Junior Richardson.
Memorials may be sent to Harvest Baptist Church 311 North 14th Street Bessemer City, NC 28016.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
