Donald Keith Kirby Jr.

Donald Kirby, Jr., 57, passed away on June 27, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born on September 24, 1966, in Gaston Co, NC, to the late Fred and Dorothy Kirby.

Donald was a NASCAR fan, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. His trade most of his life was a plumber, he was an extreme hard worker, and was very proud of his work. He was also a jokester around his friends. Donald was a US Army Veteran and served on special missions.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Diane Thomas; and brothers, Ricky Haney, and Billy Haney.

Donald is survived by his wife of 17 years, together for 22 years, Sherri Kirby; son, Donald Keith Kirby, III and wife Shelly; step-son's, Scott Carpenter and wife Cindy Morico, and Chris Carpenter and wife Erica; sister, Crystal Ferguson; grandchildren, Preston Kirby, and Landon Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
