Donald "Don" Fugate

Donald "Don" Fugate, 76, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Wise County, Virginia on May 10, 1947, to the late Howard and Montana Fugate.

Don was a member of Union Road Church of God and had also attended South Gastonia Church of God. He was the president of the men's fellowship and a greeter for over ten years at Union Road.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Brady, and Jennie Sleener.

Don is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Phyllis Proctor Fugate; son, David Truett (Jessica); three grandchildren, Ashia Welch (Caleb), Ethan Truett, Jade Truett; one great-grandchild, Theo Smith Welch; nieces, Sherry, and Lorie Brady; and numerous others.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Adrian Franklin, will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, 12:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am – 12:00 Pm at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
