Dolphus "D.L." Lanthrip

Dolphus "D.L." Lanthrip, 74, of Gastonia, passed away October 9, 2014 at Alexandria Place. He was born December 28, 1939 in Forest City, MS, son of the late, Ralph and Bessie Leona Lanthrip. "D.L" was a member of the Boilers Maker Union # 26 in Savannah, GA for 40 years. He was a loving father and grandfather "Pa-Pa Dolphus" who was very giving and had a big heart. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Lanthrip Zorens of Gastonia; grandchildren Miranda and Kynsee Zorens and good friend, Sherry Farr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lanthrip; twin-brother, Edward Lanthrip; sisters, Merle Cox and Marie Bryant. A service of remembrance will be held 4 pm on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Brother Ronnie Pressley. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
