Dewey Meek

Dewey Meek, age 69, of Kings Mountain, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born December 14, 1942, in Gastonia, son of the late Boyce and Isabelle Styles Meek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ann Hass; and his daughter, Cheryl Young. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from Carolina Energies in Shelby. Mr. Meek is survived by his wife, Maxine Meek of the home; son; Michael Meek of Gastonia; daughters, Michele Nichols and husband, J.P., and, Monique Thomas and husband, Freddy, all of Cherryville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, May 22 at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Reverend Tim Ware, will be held 11am Wednesday, May 23 at Cleveland Memorial Park. Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
